The Dean’s Distinguished Speakers Series is a signature program where nationally-renowned executives share their expertise and knowledge about the business world.
The Dean’s Distinguished Speakers Series was established in 2011 as the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series. The annual event, which was renewed in 2014 as the Dean’s Distinguished Speakers Series, showcases a C-Suite executive who has had significant regional or national impact on the business world.

Mr. Dadan Irawan Sarpingi, is the Chairman and CEO of 4848 Group of companies with operations in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Dadan completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in business in San Diego California and returned to Jakarta to assume leadership of 4848 Group of companies from his father. Under Dadan’s leadership the company has grown in scope and scale. Today the 4848 Group pf companies include transportation, cargo, tourism, business consultancy, dredging and reclamation services, real estate investments, IT and airline maintenance services and marine related projects with an annual sales of over $200 million. Dadan and his wife Nina live in Jakarta, Indonesia and have three daughters and grand children.
Mr. Irawan believes in the World of Entrepreneurial Leadership, leaders seize opportunities and turn problems into possibilities to gain advantage through creativity and to create an economic value. Fundamentally these leaders need to have knowledge of the business and surrounding environments. Entrepreneurial leaders solve problems, value action, and implement strategies to make a true impact on the business's success.
