Qualified high school students can begin working toward their college degree, while also earning high school credit through the Dual Enrollment Program.
Clayton State's Dual Enrollment Program provides students with the resources and support needed for a successful transition to college, while also offering the opportunity to continue their education at Clayton State as undergraduate students.
Important Announcement
If you are considering applying to Clayton State for Dual Enrollment admission, there's great news! Applying just got easier through Summer 2026. Following the University System of Georgia's test-optional initiative, Clayton State will not require incoming Dual Enrollment students to submit ACT/SAT scores for admission. Home School Applicants
Many home-educated students have made Clayton State University their choice for dual enrollment education.
Home School Applicants from accredited home school programs are processed and held to the same admission standards as all other applicants.
Applicants who have not completed an accredited home school program must apply using the portfolio method by submitting this document: Home School Students - Portfolio Procedure 2024-2025.
Applicants must submit a high school transcript that reflects 1 full year of high school academics. Official transcripts must have the institution’s seal and must be presented in an unopened official envelope from the sending institution. Once we receive your transcript, you will complete orientation and register for classes with your Dual Enrollment Advisor.

Submit Official SAT/ACT/Accuplacer Scores
TEST OPTIONAL NOTE
Fall 2023 - Summer 2026
Students with a core high school GPA of 3.0 or higher who are applying for Dual Enrollment admission are NOT required to submit official ACT/SAT scores for admission consideration. However, test scores will continue to be required to apply for Zell Miller scholarships in accordance with State of Georgia requirements.
Test score requirements will resume Fall 2026. All students applying for Fall 2026 and beyond will be required to submit ACT/SAT scores for admission consideration.
Applicants seeking to submit AP/IB scores, which are not necessary for admission but are encouraged for students seeking college credit, must be submitted from the testing service. See this page for more information on Clayton State's AP Credit Policy.
When requesting scores, use Clayton State University's College Board code #5145 for the SAT test and for AP exams. Use Clayton State University's ACT code #0803 for the ACT test.

Take the ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer at Clayton State
Clayton State University periodically administers college entrance and placement exams, including the SAT, ACT, and Accuplacer, at our on-site testing center. Contact Testing Center at (678) 466-4495, for more information.

1 Institutions may establish additional or higher requirements for Dual Enrollment
admission and placement.
2 High school courses with a grade of “C” or higher may be counted as successfully
completed.
3 Must meet the minimum grade requirement for the institution which may be a “C” or
higher.
- Dual enrollment applicants must also have a minimum cumulative high school grade point
average (GPA) of 3.0 in academic subjects as calculated by the institution for admission
purposes.
- Academic subjects include the Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) units of English, Math, Social Science, Science, Foreign Language, and AP Computer Science. For admission purposes, the applicant's GPA will be calculated using grades in these subjects only. Grades earned in elective classes (e.g. Art, P.E., Yearbook) will not factor in the GPA calculation for Dual Enrollment admission to Clayton State University.
- Students must be on track towards the completion of the USG Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) and high school graduation requirements.
- Students applying to participate in the Dual Enrollment program must submit a completed Dual Enrollment Student Participation Agreement signed by the student, parent/guardian, and high school counselor. If the student is not applying to the Dual Enrollment program, written consent of his or her parent/guardian must be submitted.
- All students must satisfy the Immunization requirements prior to the first day of classes.
- Students must submit proof of lawful presence in the U.S. to the Office of Admissions
in Suite 150 of Edgewater Hall or to admissions@clayton.edu (GA driver’s license, GA driver’s permit, U.S. passport, or birth certificates are
accepted)
