Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable $40.00 application fee. Online applicants must use a credit or debit card to pay the application fee.
You must submit all official transcripts from your high school/or all post-secondary records. All transcripts must be in English; if not in English, they must be translated by a certified company. Please submit the certified translations along with your original official transcripts in the indigenous language.
If you have 30 or more transferable credits from an accredited college or university, you must submit an official copy of all college transcripts. (If you are unsure you have the transfer credits, please submit your secondary school transcripts as well).
Clayton State University requires that all international academic documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, leaving examination results, etc.) be formally evaluated by an independent evaluation service, which can be found below:

Some applicants can be classified as Freshman Transfer or Non-traditional freshman.
A Freshman Transfer is someone who graduated from high school in the last five years and attended another college/university, but earned less than 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours of transferable college course credit.
A Non-Traditional Freshman is someone who graduated from high school, or would have graduated from high school, more than five years ago, and has never attended college.

English is the medium of instruction in all courses at Clayton State University, except foreign language courses. International applicants whose primary native language is not English must document proof of proficiency in English through one of the following options:

- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The internet based TOEFL, or “ibT”.
The following TOEFL scores are acceptable:
- 75 total on the internet-based TOEFL (ibT), or
- 540+ on the paper-based TOEFL if the ibT is not available in your region
- The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- 6.0 total minimum scores

- Completion of an approved University System of Georgia (USG) intensive ESL program.

I-20/Student Visa Requirements
AFTER acceptance, ISS (International Student Services) will issue immigration documents required for a new visa, or a SEVIS transfer.
ISS does not offer support for students seeking Reinstatement to F-1 status or a Change of Status to an F-1 Visa due to exceptionally long adjudication times. It is recommended that students seeking Reinstatement or Change of Status return to their home country and apply for an F-1 visa.
Financial Verification Form
F-1 Visa students must provide evidence of financial support along with a copy of your passport photo page. Submit the Financial Verification Form with the following:
- Affidavit from your financial sponsor indicating support required by the institution as indicated on the form
- Sworn or notarized letter from sponsor’s bank showing required funds available, in U.S. dollars.
Transfer In-Request Form
For students already studying in the U.S. on a F-1 visa, submit the Transfer In Request Form.
Certificate of Immunization
All students must complete immunization forms and holds prior to class registration. You can find more information as well as required forms on the University Health Services website.
