Compliance Narrative

Clayton State University has assembled a strong team of administrative and academic officers to lead the institution. A perusal of the Organizational Charts for the President's Cabinet and Academic Affairs as well as the Table of Qualified Administrators/Academic Officers supports the assertion that these individuals have the credentials and expertise to lead the University (further documentation in the form of curriculum vitae/resumes is provided below). Clayton State follows the hiring guidelines set forth by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and federal laws when defining the positions of its administrative and academic officers. Administrative and academic officers have been recruited, selected, and hired based on human resources policies of the Institution. These policies include the following:

EEO Policy Statement

Proc. 75-50). Clayton State University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Institution. Non-Discrimination Policy

"Clayton State University, in compliance with Titles VI & VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Sections 503 & 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin or disabilities in and of its polices, procedures or practices; nor does CSU, in compliance with the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 and Section 402 of the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Act of 1974, discriminate against employees or applicants on the basis of their age or because they are disabled veterans or veterans of the Vietnam Era. Nondiscrimination applies to all actions related, but not limited, to recruitment, application processing, employment procedures, job classification, transfer, promotion, training, performance evaluation, compensation, grievance procedures, and termination."

Adherence to the above-mentioned federal laws and Affirmative Action/Equal opportunity policies ensures that all hiring decisions will be based solely on job qualifications. Operating within these policies and those of the University System of Georgia the Board of Regents and the University have hired administrative and academic officers with exemplary levels of experience, competence, and leadership ability. The Institution's current leadership team was built through national searches that were conducted in such a manner as to identify and attract the most qualified individuals available in the country. Clayton State University administrators are reviewed on a yearly basis according to the policies and guidelines set forth by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents and the institution.
