Associate of Science in Integrative Studies Pre-Engineering
The Associate of Science in Integrative Studies Pre-engineering is a two-year degree program that focuses on a general preparation for engineering school.
The A.S. degree supplies nearly all of the math and science courses found in the Regent’s Engineering Pathways Program (REPP), in addition to completion of the core curriculum. Students completing the Pre-engineering Associates can apply to transfer to any engineering school.
The pre-engineering program is a 60-semester hour program leading to an Associate of Science in Integrative Studies. In addition to 42 credit hours of general education courses, the following courses comprise the core curriculum:
|Total Program Credit Hours||60|
Lower Division Major Requirements (18 hours)
|MATH 1501 Calculus I (1 hour carry over from Area D)||3|
|MATH 2140 Introduction to Linear Algebra||3|
|MATH 2502 Calculus II 4 hours||4|
|Approved 3000 or above level courses labeled MATH 9 hours||9|
If MATH 1501 is taken in Area A (17-18 hours)
|MATH 1501 Calculus I*||1|
|MATH 2140 Introductory Linear Algebra||3|
|MATH 2502 Calculus II*||1|
|AMATH 2503 Calculus III||4|
|PHYS 2211 Principles of Physics I||3|
|PHYS 2211L Principles of Physics Lab I||1|
|PHYS 2212 Principles of Physics II||3|
|PHYS 2212 Principles of Physics Lab II||1|
Other Program-Specific Graduation Requirements
REPP students are strongly encouraged to complete the core curriculum and apply to receive the associate degree from Clayton State prior to transferring to their engineering school.
* Calculus I and II are 4 credit hour course taken in Areas A and D. One (1) credit hour for each is applied to Area F.
