SUMMIT Program

Clayton State University College of Information and Mathematical Sciences collaborates with Georgia Tech School of Mechanical Engineering in College of Engineering to provide an internship opportunity for CSU students through a Student Undergraduate Mentorship and Mastery of Information Technology (SUMMIT) program. 

As a part of the SUMMIT Program, up to five (5) CSU Students will perform IT work for Georgia Tech for a minimum of one academic year (i.e., three (3) semesters) and be eligible to receive CSU Internship Cooperative/Capstone credit. The CSU students will work less than twenty (20) hours per week, ideally two (2) students per shift.

Georgia Tech will 1) provide experiential learning opportunities for selected CSU students; and 2) provide SUMMIT Program Liaison to manage the programmatic and experiential learning activities and the collaboration with CSU. CSU will 1) assist in identifying up to five (5) CSU students each academic year to participate in the SUMMIT Program; 2) promote the SUMMIT Program to CSU students; and 3) provide CSU Campus Liaison to assist with the programmatic and experiential learning activities in cooperation with Georgia Tech.

Students who are selected to participate in SUMMIT program will learn and practice IT skills in a progressive manner starting working with IT Help Desk Team and finishing with well prepared for career in Information Technology
