Georgia National Guard Service Cancelable Loan (GNGSCL)
If eligible, students can use the GNGSCL towards Standard Undergraduate Tuition amount only. Student must be enrolled at least six hours up to the maximum of 15 hours per term (available during fall and spring semesters only). The maximum amount awarded to an eligible student is tuition for 120 semester hours. If eligible, an undergraduate student must complete the FAFSA application for the aid year in which the student is seeking GNGSCL funds (School Code: 008976).
Graduate students are not required to complete the FAFSA application. Student must
complete the applicant sections of the application and Master Promissory Note, and have a Georgia National Guard official to complete Part B of the application and submit the Application and Master Promissory Note to the Office of Financial Aid. The Office of Financial Aid will complete Part C of the application and submit the
GNGSCL Application and Master Promissory Note to Georgia Student Finance Commission
(GSFC) for processing.
**Before the student submits the application and the Master Promissory Note to the
Office of Financial Aid, students should make sure that the FAFSA has been processed
and financial aid awarded, if applicable.
Before submitting to the Office of Financial Aid, student must also be registered for classes. GSFC processes complete applications on a first-come, first-served basis pending available funds. When GSFC sends the approval to the Office of Financial Aid, then the student's award will be updated accordingly.
