Mission
The mission is to promote a safe and healthy environment for education and working through maintenance of the university's infrastructure, grounds, and housekeeping.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of Physical Plant Operations include maintaining 216 acres of landscape and 25 academic support buildings and 16 residential buildings, the infrastructure of the main campus and satellite facility Lucy C. Huie Hall. Physical Plant Operations is dedicated to supporting the University’s core mission of education and enlightenment by ensuring the proper operation of the support functions of the University. The purpose is to preserve the assets of the University and to support the University’s Mission by providing project management, design input, estimating projects, bidding projects, construction administration and capital project planning.
Department staff keeps all operating systems in proper working condition by having a detailed preventative maintenance plan, an ongoing deferred maintenance plan and responding to the repair needs of the campus community. Physical Plant Operations provides the following services:

First Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
Second Shift: Monday-Friday, 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Saturday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
