Orientation
Welcome to New Student Orientation
Start Your Laker Journey Right
We are excited you are starting your academic journey at Clayton State University! At orientation, we'll help you get acquainted with our campus community and prepare for your first semester. Start by learning what to expect and what you can do to make the most of your first Laker Nation experience as an official Laker.
During Orientation
At New Student Orientation, you will:
- Be welcomed into the university community
- Receive information regarding academic policies, procedures, and deadlines
- Learn about multiple academic and campus life resources, programs, and services to aid your transition to Clayton State University
Clayton State offers Orientation in a two-part hybrid format. Students first complete Online Orientation. Next, students come to campus for an in-person Orientation session.
During Online Orientation, you will explore self-paced modules and submit a completion quiz. The quiz includes questions that will inform our Academic Advisors of your class schedule preferences.
During On-Campus Orientation, you can bring one guest to help with your transition to campus. You will have the opportunity to hear from current students and representatives from various campus departments, including Financial Aid, Bursar, Student Life, Housing, and more.
