Troubleshooting
Before/During Registration
If you are having issues registering for orientation , make sure you have done the following:
- received an acceptance letter from Clayton State with an offer of admission for your intended term of entry
- correctly entered your full name, birthdate, and email address as it appears on your admissions application. (Typos will cause errors.) Don't remember which email address you used? Log in to the Clayton State application portal and view your profile.
If you require additional registration assistance, feel free to contact our Orientation Student Helpdesk. We are happy to help.
To best assist you, please share the following details:
- your full name
- your Laker ID
- a description of the issue and the date you experienced it
- a screenshot of the webpage where you encountered the error
The lookup error occurs when the system cannot match your student account with the information entered on the Orientation registration form. This error could be caused by incorrect typing of your Laker ID, or it could be because of an ineligible application status or student type.
Use this guide to troubleshoot:
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
Incorrect Laker ID | Be sure you have typed your Laker ID correctly. Remove any extra spaces between characters or at the end of the text you entered. Don't know your Laker ID? Look it up here. |
Ineligible Application Status | Check your application status. Only admitted students are eligible to register for Orientation, starting the day after their admission decision date. |
Ineligible Student Type | Orientation registration is open to new freshman, transfer, and nontraditional undergraduate students only. Graduate students, transient students, post-baccalaureate students, readmitted students, and Dual Enrollment students are not required to complete undergraduate orientation. Ineligible students may still view the Orientation modules. |
