Policy Statement:
Graduating students are welcome to use the library for graduation photos. This policy outlines when and how graduating students can use the library for this purpose.
Reason for Policy:
Library policies are created to assist students, faculty/staff, and community users with developing a welcoming and inviting
study and research space within the library facility. Each policy explains who, how,
and when the library building, resources, etc. can be accessed. In the event library
property becomes lost or damaged, or there is a disturbance during operating hours,
policies and procedures explain how these matters will be resolved.
Policy Scope:
This policy applies to all Clayton State University students wanting to take graduation photos in the library.
Policy and Procedures:
The library offers photoshoot reservations late fall and spring semesters. Fall semester photoshoots are available starting the first week of November and continue until the last Friday of the fall semester. Spring semester photoshoots are available starting the first week of April and continue until the last Friday of the spring semester.
The reservation system for photoshoots will become available about 10 days before reservations begin. Students will not be able to book a photoshoot until the system is populated with time slots;
but when it does, they will be able to use the library’s reservation system to reserve a photoshoot .
There are two reservation types available:
Professional photoshoot - involves a professional photographer and special equipment like lights and reflectors. Students often use different parts of the library as a background.
Quick photoshoot - quick photoshoots typically take less than 30 minutes and don't require special equipment - just a phone or digital camera.
Note: when making a photoshoot reservation, ignore the “room capacity” numbers
Review by Library Administration
All photoshoot reservations are reviewed and must be approved by the library administration. Administration will receive a notification about a reservation and contact the student by email within 48 hours. Exceptions might occur due to extenuating circumstances (e.g. early closures) when we must close the library on a particular day, but that is rare.
Reservation Parameters:
- Photoshoot reservations can be made for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- The default reservation is 60 minutes.
