Laker Hall is Clayton State’s student residence for first-year students. The apartment-style layout gives each student a private space to relax, study or hang out with friends. It’s your home away from home.

Barbershop Initiative – 3rd Floor C Wing
Male identified students are invited to participate and live in the Barbershop Initiative learning community. Modeled after the tradition of community barbershops, participants will engage in formal and informal learning. The goal of the Barbershop Initiative is to help ease the transition to college through engagement in academic skills enrichment and the introduction of student support services. Student will have access to adult and peer mentors and will focus on leadership development throughout the year
EmpowHER Initiative – 3rd Floor A Wing
Female identified students are invited to participate and live in the EmpowHER Initiative learning community. Modeled after the tradition of US First Ladies, participants will live in a community that encourages Service, Leadership, and Empowerment. The goal of the EmpowHER Initiative is to help ease the transition to college through engagement in academic skills enrichment and the introduction of student support services. Student will have access to adult and peer mentors and will focus on leadership development throughout the year.

For Summer Term enrollment, only Laker Village Apartments are available for on-campus housing.
Paying for University Housing
Start your financial aid application process early! Students who anticipate having difficulties with college expenses, including housing costs, should contact the Office of Financial Aid for assistance in determining eligibility and applying for federal education grants and loans.
Important Note for Housing Students: All tuition and housing charges must be paid in full (or a payment plan in place) prior to residence hall move-in. Students with a balance due will not be permitted access to the residence hall/unit.
