Let the countdown begin! Our annual Homecoming is an exciting time at Clayton State University. Homecoming is all about spirit, pride, and connecting with your alma mater. And there is no better time to be a part of #LakerNation.

Homecoming Events

All Week

  • "Top Laker" Social Media Campaign, hosted by Athletics
    The Clayton State Department of Athletics wants to find the top Laker! We will be asking fans to showcase their fandom on social media and prove that they are the top Laker. This can be attire, memorabilia, or a quick video highlighting a past experience with Clayton State. Use the hashtag #LakerHomecoming21 and tag Athletics on Twitter (@CSULakers) and Instagram (@CSU_Lakers) to be entered for a prize of a $100 e-gift card. There will be two winners announced Saturday, one during the women's basketball game and one during the men's game. Winners will also be announced on Twitter and Instagram.
  • Food Drive for Laker Care Closet, hosted by Campus Life
    The Laker Care Closet allows the Clayton State community the opportunity to serve its own population by providing our students who express a need with basic living necessities such as food and clothing. Requested donation items include: boxed macaroni and cheese, instant mashed potatoes, dry pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, canned soups, canned vegetables, canned meats (tuna, chicken), rice, boxed juices, cereal, canned fruit, fruit cups and fruit snacks, and business professional clothing. Drop off your items in the following locations until February 12: Laker Hall, University Health Services, Student Activities Center, and the University Center.
  • Virtual 5K Run, hosted by Department of Recreation & Wellness

  • "Laker Cribz" Room Decorating Contest, hosted by Housing & Residence Life
    Laker Hall and Laker Village, love the way your room is decorated? Enter the Laker Cribz room decoration contest! Laker Cribz is a wonderful opportunity for students to show off their rooms for a chance at a special prize! Come join the fun for a chance to win! Start by signing up by February 9, 2021. 
  • "Loch's Lost Cups" Scavenger Hunt, hosted by Auxiliary Services and sponsored by Pepsi
    Help Loch find his misplaced cups! Ten cups will be hidden around campus each day. Find one of them and you can redeem it for a Pepsi prize at the Loch shop plus there will also be one grand prize awarded each day! Follow Auxiliary Services Instagram page for clues on where the cups are hidden.
  • Homecoming Spirit Virtual Exhibit, sponsored by the University Archives
    Laker Nation, it's that time again! Are you ready for Homecoming 2021!? As you enjoy the week's festivities, be sure to stop by the Archives website to view the "Homecoming Spirit" virtual exhibit. Get ready to explore CSU traditions, pride, and photos from past Homecoming events. 

Monday, February 8

  • 5:00 p.m. - Homecoming S'mores, hosted by Department of Recreation & Wellness
    Join DRW, CEC, and Auxiliary Services as we cheer on our women's soccer team! There will be s'mores, soccer, interactive attractions, fire pits, Pepsi sampling tent, and more! COVID-19 policies will be implemented so you can enjoy some s'mores while cheering our Clayton State Lakers!
  • 5:00 p.m. - Women's Soccer Game vs. Francis Marion University
    Tickets available on a first come, first serve basis. Advanced tickets will not be available. More information on tickets can be found by clicking here. You can also watch the game by tuning into the PBC Sports Network.
  • "Where Are You Watching From?" Social Media Campaign, sponsored by Athletics
    The Clayton State Department of Athletics wants to see where and how our fans are watching the games. Since attendance is at a reduced capacity this season, this gives our Laker fans a chance to be recognized without having to leave the comfort and safety of your home. Send us your submissions on Twitter (@CSULakers) and Instagram (@CSU_Lakers), and we will share them online.

Tuesday, February 9

  • 12:00 p.m. – Give4Dreams Advocate Training Session (Virtual)
    Want to help make an impact on the future of Clayton State University? Sign up to become a Give4Dreams Advocate and attend our training session to learn more about out how you can volunteer to make this year’s Clayton State giving day the best one ever! Link for training session provided after signing up as an advocate.
  • 7:00 p.m. - Student Choice Awards and Homecoming Court Crowning
    #PressPlayCSU! Join us for the annual Homecoming Student Choice Awards and find out who you chose in categories like best Tik Tok'er; Best Dressed; Most Trending; The Influencer; Dreammaker; and more! We will also announce your Homecoming Royal Court--to include Mr. and Miss Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior and, of course, your Homecoming King and Queen. You don't want to miss this annual Homecoming tradition! Nominations for the Student Choice Awards will open on Thursday, January 28. Check your email for more information about the Homecoming Royal Court.

Wednesday, February 10

  • 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. - Mask Up CSU Part 2, hosted by Campus Events Council
    Join Campus Events Council and MaskUP! Come Snap a pic and show off how you help reduce the spread of #COVID19. All current Clayton State Lakers are welcome to come to the Student Activities Center and create a custom mask and take a photo MaskedUp!
  • 6:00 p.m. - Cocktails & Trivia Night, hosted by Alumni Association (Virtual)
    Register today - Join the Alumni Association and your fellow alumni for a night of fun and games! Learn how to make our signature Clayton State Lakers Homecoming cocktail and test your trivia knowledge. *No students and must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
  • 5:00 p.m. - Women’s Basketball Game vs. University of North Georgia
  • 7:00 p.m. - Men's Basketball Game vs. University of North Georgia
    Tickets available to the first 100 fans with a focus on current students. More information on tickets can be found by clicking here. You can also watch the games by tuning into the PBC Sports Network.

Thursday, February 11

  • All Day - "Throwback Thursday" 
    Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends: Post your favorite Homecoming memories and tag Clayton State or Clayton State Alumni on social media for a chance to win prizes throughout the day.
  • 11:00 a.m. - Build A Bear, hosted by Campus Events Council
    Join Campus Events Council and experience the fun of making your own custom Teddy Bear! All current Clayton State Lakers are welcome to come and Build A Bear with the CEC Team in Laker Hall!
  • 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. - Faculty/Staff Alumni Recognition Lunch, hosted by the Alumni Association 
    Sign up today ... The Alumni Association will celebrate our alumni who are on campus working with our future alumni. Stop by the Athletics Center for a grab-n-go lunch. Attendance is FREE and only for members of the faculty and staff who are alumni of Clayton State. In addition to lunch, any alumni who stop by will receive a free t-shirt!
  • 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - CSU Family Feud: Homecoming Edition, hosted by the Fraternity & Sorority Council 
    This event will take place in the Student Activities Center Ballroom with limited space for an in-person audience. RSVP instructions will be provided a week before the event. The show can be viewed on Instagram Live at @CSU_FSC.

Friday, February 12

  • 12:00 p.m. – "Where Are They Now?" Visual Podcast, hosted by the Alumni Association
    Have you ever wondered what some of the past Homecoming Kings and Queens are up to now? Join our hosts, Dr. Royal Baxter and Joseph Echols, as we talk with these alumni about their experiences as Homecoming royalty, their time at Clayton State, and what they are doing today. This event will be broadcast on the Alumni Association's Facebook Live and Instagram Live feeds.
  • 2:00 p.m. - One Love Event, hosted by Housing & Residence Life
    This workshop is designed to help young people understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy behaviors and how they may manifest in friendships and dating relationships. Using a series of short, animated clips, this workshop empowers young people to recognize unhealthy signs before they turn abusive. It also enables them to practice healthier behaviors with their peers and partners. This event will take place in the Laker Hall Multipurpose Room.
  • 7:00 p.m. - Friday Night DJ Party, hosted by the Alumni Association
    Join other alumni for a night of music and fun on Instagram Live

Saturday, February 13

  • 10:00 a.m. - Homecoming Yoga, sponsored by the Alumni Association
    Time to get Homecoming Saturday off to a great start with a little stretch and workout. Former yoga instructor at the Student Activities Center, Stephanie Granthier, will be hosting a virtual yoga session which is open to alumni, students, faculty, and staff. This event is free but registration is required.
