Assistive Technology

A student using assistive technology.

Assistive technology is computer-based software or hardware solutions that enables students with disabilities to access information and compensates for the impact of their disabilities. Disability Services has a limited number of programs that can be used by students in our computer lab. In addition, to make a student's laptop accessible for a course or program,  Disability Services may loan software to students on a case-by-case basis. Assistive technology training options can be discussed with a Disability Service staff member since not all training is provided by the Disability Services. Some examples of the programs that Disability Services office has are listed below:

  • JAWS - Screen reading
  • Zoom Text - Screen reading and text enlargement
