French Frequently Asked Questions

This major or minor can start with face-to-face classes at Clayton State University or can be taken entirely online with classes offered through Clayton State University’s eLanguage consortium with other University System of Georgia (USG) institutions. Online classes by Clayton State University faculty members may be offered in D2L or in GoView. Classes offered for the consortium occur solely in GoView.

The classes offered in the fall, spring, and summer sessions appear in the Clayton State University course schedule.

Because the different campuses in the consortium have different schedules, the courses offered in the consortium use the USG’s Common Calendar.

Georgia Online Virtual Instruction Enterprise Wide (GoVIEW) is a learning management system for online collaborative programs offered by University System of Georgia (USG) institutions. GoVIEW Brightspace by D2L is used to deliver courses online to students throughout the USG. While it is very similar in appearance to Clayton State’s D2L system, it must be accessed separately.

  1. After you have registered for a consortium class, begin at https://go.view.usg.edu/d2l/login.
  2. Once there, enter the following information: Swan Sign-On_clsu, i.e. JohnDoe_clsu.
  3. Click that you have forgotten your password, after which a temporary password will be sent to your Clayton State University mail account. You can then create a new password.
  4. If you do not soon receive an e-mail, immediately write to JoeJohnson@clayton.edu with your Laker ID#, and a password reset will be performed on your behalf.
  5. Once the reset occurs, sign in with your account name and new password and access your class, which will be available on the day the class begins.
