University Communications use a variety of tools to manage our brand, and communicate to external and internal audiences through mediums such as the weekly e-newsletter, social media, and the newsroom.
As the central communications office for Clayton State University, the Office of Marketing and Communications advances the Clayton State brand through promotion and management of the University’s reputation, image, and identity. We are understandably careful about the way the Clayton State brand is represented.
The Office of Marketing and Communications has a vested interest in the success of our University and the attainment of our shared goals. We join our partners in celebration of each individual success whether it be enrollment, fundraising, athletics or student outcomes. Our goal is to serve with the highest level of excellence, therefore we seek to establish strategic partnerships in which each party brings its respective expertise to help achieve shared goals.
How We Help You
Our methodology is very simple: We take a research-driven, comprehensive approach that uses a mix of communication strategies to engage, inform, and influence target audiences. In the process, we ask these questions:

- Who is your audience?
- What do you want them to know or what action do you want them to take?
To better serve you, we will meet with you to help define your needs and goals, to determine the scope of the project, to provide communication recommendations that are based on research and experience, develop a project timeline, and oversee the execution within our division.
What We Do
Graphic Design is offered for departments in need of creative services to produce materials that support the overall University goals and strategic plan such as marketing materials.
Photography is available through the Office of Marketing and Communications. The staff photojournalist may be requested to photograph University events and provide headshots for faculty and staff.
The goal of the Clayton State University website is to provide relevant and up-to-date information that is clear and accessible across multiple devices (PC, mobile and tablets), organized and an easy to navigate.
Social media as a significant tool for the dissemination of news and information about the University to connect and engage with our audiences: students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the University.
Our primary mission centers on externally-facing and consumer-focused video content to promote and enhance the brand of Clayton State University.
Public and Media Relations
The Office of Marketing and Communications has a vested interest in the success of our University and the attainment of our shared goals. We have established media partners and are continuously researching new media opportunities and best practices.
As a resource, our office offers various training opportunities for faculty and staff. Training may be offered in a group setting or one-on-one depending on the topic.
