Department of Mathematics and Decision Sciences
The Mathematics and Decision Sciences program is designed to prepare students to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems that can be modeled mathematically.
Students in the B.S. in Mathematics program develop the analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills needed to address complex challenges in a data-driven world. They learn to interpret numerical and graphical information, construct rigorous mathematical arguments and proofs, use computational tools effectively, and communicate technical ideas clearly in written and oral forms. Through a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning, modeling, and technology-supported analysis, graduates are prepared for careers in fields such as data analytics, finance, education, technology, actuarial science, government, and industry, as well as for graduate or professional study.
