The Clayton State University Student Veterans of America (SVA) Chapter is currently seeking motivated military-affiliated students who are interested in serving as chapter leaders. Serving as an SVA officer is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills, build your résumé, network with professionals, and make a lasting impact on the military- connected community at Clayton State University.
Available Executive Board Positions President
- Leads the chapter and presides over meetings
- Serves as the primary representative of the organization
- Works closely with the CBVC Advisor
- Oversees chapter goals and initiatives
Vice President
- Assists the President
- Coordinates chapter operations
- Assumes leadership responsibilities in the President's absence
- Oversees committees and special projects
Secretary
- Records meeting minutes
- Maintains chapter records
- Manages correspondence
- Tracks attendance and membership
Treasurer
- Oversees chapter finances
- Assists with budget planning
- Maintains financial records
- Coordinates fundraising activities
Membership Coordinator
- Recruits new members
- Welcomes new military-affiliated students
- Maintains membership records
- Coordinates member engagement activities
Career & Professional Development Chair
- Coordinates networking events
- Connects members with Career Services
- Organizes résumé workshops and employer events
- Shares internship and employment opportunities
Community Service Chair
- Plans volunteer opportunities
- Coordinates community service projects
- Develops partnerships with local veteran organizations
- Tracks volunteer hours
Events & Programming Chair
- Plans social and educational events
- Coordinates Veterans Day and Military Appreciation activities
- Assists with event logistics
Public Relations & Communications Chair
Manages social media
- Creates flyers and promotional materials
- Maintains chapter communications
- Promotes meetings and events
Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Be currently enrolled at Clayton State
- Be a veteran, active-duty service member, National Guard member, Reservist, military spouse, military dependent, ROTC cadet, or other military-affiliated
- Be in good academic
- Demonstrate leadership potential and
- Be committed to supporting the military-affiliated student
