The Philosophy faculty of Clayton State is inviting faculty, staff, students and the general public to its Fifth Annual Philosophy in Society talk, Confucian Ethics for the 21st Century
, presented by Dr. Jon Herman of Georgia State University. Herman’s free presentation will run from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., in room UC327 of the James M. Baker University Center.
Herman is an affiliate faculty member with the Center for Asian Studies at Georgia State, an officer in the Society for the Study of Chinese Religion, and a member of the Committee on the Public Understanding of Religion with the American Academy of Religion. Herman is currently at work writing “Taoism for Dummies” and his areas of interest include Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, Comparative Mysticism, Theory and Method in the Study of Religion, Religion and Popular Culture.
