James McKinney is a passionate leader, artist, and advocate for student success. A Stage and Screen major, he is a two-time Irene Ryan nominee, earning recognition for his performance skills and leading his theater company to a North Carolina showcase. With five years in the National Guard and active participation in ROTC at Georgia State, James embodies leadership and service. He has contributed to hiring committees at Clayton State and supports fellow students through his work at the Veterans Resource Center. Committed to financial empowerment, he founded a financial literacy club and shares his creativity through YouTube and music production. Running for Mr. Clayton State, James aims to amplify student voices, foster community, and uplift Laker pride.

Hello everyone! My name is Lamaya Nelson, and I am a senior nursing student with a minor in education specialties. I am ecstatic to be running for your 2025 Miss Clayton State University! I’ve had the privilege of being a part of Clayton State’s community for 4 years, and I truly believe in the spirit of unity and pride that our school represents.
On campus I currently serve as the treasurer of the Iota Sigma Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., a Laker Village resident assistant for the 3000 building, Captain of the Clayton State Cheer team, a member of NSLS and FSC and I have accumulated over 400 service hours in the past two years. As a leader I am always looking for ways to contribute to the positive energy and inclusivity that make our school special. I love getting to know people and I am passionate about creating spaces where everyone feels welcome and celebrated.
As Miss Clayton State University, my goal is to engage students at Clayton State and create an inclusive, safe and fun environment where everyone feels empowered to pursue their dreams. I want to be the face of leadership on campus, leading by example and showing that with dedication, support and resources anything is possible. Joshua Bandoo is a senior at Clayton State University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. As the President of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) at CSU, he has led the organization to new heights, actively participating in regional conferences and securing first-place accolades. Beyond academia, Joshua serves as a Cyber Operator in the United States Air Force Reserve, where he applies his technical expertise to national defense. Additionally, he is a Delta Air Lines Flight Attendant based in Atlanta (ATL), balancing his passion for technology with global travel. His academic journey includes dual enrollment at Georgia Tech, where he participated in the Air Force ROTC commissioning program, further solidifying his leadership and technical skills. With a strong foundation in both computing and military service, Joshua continues to make strides in the fields of Cybersecurity, Leadership, and Community.

Ajanaé Dorsey is a Legal Studies major dedicated to leadership, advocacy, and service. As a passionate future attorney, she has excelled academically and professionally, serving as a Legally BLK Fund Fellow, GrammyU Ambassador, and Miss Black South Atlantic USA. Her experience includes internships with Generation Now at Atlantic Records and active volunteer work with the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia and The American Legion. Throughout her time in college, Ajanaé has used her platform to uplift others, particularly advocating for women in entertainment and supporting students. With a heart for service and a vision for excellence, she is committed to representing the senior class with integrity, dedication, and pride. My name is Sha’Niya Dilworth, and I am a proud senior in the Dental Hygiene program from Savannah, GA. In my free time, I love reading, playing the piano, crocheting hats, and giving back through volunteering. I have dedicated over 50 hours of service to organizations such as the Sickle Cell Foundation, Food Bank of America, Books for Africa, and many more.
On campus, I stay actively involved as a member of SADHA (Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association), NCNW (National Council of Negro Women), and as a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. These organizations have shaped me into a leader, a mentor, and a voice for my peers. Hello, my name is Jalen Little and I am currently a junior here at CSU. I am a Computer Science major, with a minor in Business. I was the former Mr. Freshman, as well as the current Mr. Sophomore for the past two years of homecoming here in our lovely university. I am currently running to become your new Mr. Junior! I am a participating member of the African American Male Initiative, or AAMI, here on campus. I am a very outgoing and very relatable person, and 8 ball genius, so don't test me on the table. Harlie Brown is a dedicated student leader, serving as a Lead Resident Assistant at Laker Hall and a Community Coordinator for PULSE, the pre-nursing living learning community. Hello, my name is Nehemiah Horton, I also go by Nemo. I was born and raised in Lumberton, North Carolina; I moved to Augusta, Georgia in 2015. Greetings, my Laker family! My name is Mekelle Watson, and I’m from Macon, Georgia. I’m a freshman majoring in biology, with the goal of becoming a cardiologist one day.
