DREAMS Scholarship Program
Dedicating Resources to Educationally Advance More Students (DREAMS) Scholarship Program is a need-based aid program to assist eligible Georgia residents that are enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at least half time.
Students must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and have remaining unmet financial need. Students must complete the online Financial Toolkit sessions (currently unavailable) and must complete a 60 hour per term work requirement.
Available funding is limited.
Basic DREAMS Eligibility Requirements:
- Meet U.S. Citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements;
- be a legal resident of Georgia;
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours;
- Be enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree;
- Must not have previously earned a Baccalaureate Degree;
- Be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements
- Be in compliance with the Georgia Drug-Free Postsecondary Education Act of 1990
- Not be in default or owe a refund on a student financial aid program
DREAMS Program Eligibility Requirements:
In addition to the Basic DREAMS eligibility requirements, student must also:
- Be Pell Eligible and have Remaining Financial Need;
- Remaining financial need=Cost of Attendance-Student Aid Index-other scholarship and grant aid
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and have a calculated HOPE GPA of 2.0 or higher at the end of each semester;
- Complete the Financial Toolkit (Not available for completion yet)
- Be sure to create a GaFutures student account with a valid SSN. This is how you will access the Financial Toolkit when available.
- Work Requirement
- After receiving DREAMS Scholarship for the first term, student must complete at least 60 hours of work following each term
Award Amounts for DREAMS Scholarship
- Funding is limited and not guaranteed. Scholarship awards are based on program requirements, a student's unmet need, and available allocated funds at the institution.
- DREAMS Scholarship term cannot exceed the student's unmet financial need or $1500,
whichever is less.
- Unmet need=Cost of Attendance-Student Aid Index-Other Scholarship and Grant aid.
- Students cannot exceed $3000 maximum yearly amount

- Step 2: Complete current year's FAFSA application and any outstanding verification requirement(s). After you have been awarded federal financial aid for the current year, proceed with the remaining steps.
- Step 3: Create a GA Futures Account with a valid Social Security Number, if you haven't already.
- Step 4: Register with Selective Service (if applicable)
- Step 5: Complete the Financial Toolkit (Currently unavailable)
- Step 6: Go to Verification, Select Manage Requests and select the DREAMS Scholarship Request form (Currently Unavailable)
- Step 7: Complete the DREAMS Work Requirement and submit your documentation (Currently Unavailable)
All financial aid awards are contingent upon continued eligibility. If a review determines that you do not meet the applicable eligibility requirements, your financial aid award may be adjusted or removed from your account.
