Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation, Inc. Provides Support to the Laker Meal Share Program
(June 30, 2025) - Members of the Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation, Inc. scpfinc.org recently met with Dr. Georj Lewis, Clayton State University President; Montrese Adger Fuller, Vice President for University Advancement and External Relations, Dr. Don Stansberry, Vice President of Student Affairs; and Sarah Ray, Director of Student Life and Student Activities Center to contribute to the Laker Meal Share Program, https://www.clayton.edu/lakers-care-and-share.
The group plans to support 100 students at Clayton State University and continue to provide support to the Laker Care Pantry to ensure that Clayton State students have the resources that they need. The Laker Meal Share Program gives students the opportunity to request up to three meals from the university dining hall. These meals are added directly to their campus meal plans, offering immediate, no-cost support when they’re needed most.
The Laker Care Pantry is fully supported by donations and provides free food, household, and hygiene items to students in need. With one current campus location, and a second scheduled to open in Summer 2025, the pantry is an essential resource for students. The new location will feature refrigerated and frozen storage, allowing the offering of fresh produce, vegetables, milk, frozen meals, and other perishable essentials.
“As a community-rooted organization, Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation is proud to partner with Clayton State University to help address food insecurity on campus,” said President Shannon Y. Daniels, Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation, Inc. “When we support students' basic needs, we invest in their potential and in the future of our community. This donation is one way we can stand in the gap—because thriving students build thriving communities,” she added.
Vice President Adger Fuller expressed her gratitude to the group. "On behalf of the Clayton State University Foundation, I would like to thank Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation, Inc., for the most generous support that they have provided through the Laker Meal Share Program. They are truly making a difference in the lives of our students."
