A total of ten nursing students were accompanied by the School of Nursing faculty, including Angela Hollis, assistant professor, and Chyrel Panlilio, assistant professor.  The students provided blood pressure checks to those who were in attendance and desired to have their blood pressure checked.  The students also provided counseling on lifestyle adjustments needed to manage healthy blood pressure.

Students from the Dental Hygiene program offered oral health tips and performed dental examinations under the direct supervision of Dr. Naquilla Thomas, department chair, and Dr. Tenecia Hall, one of the program’s supervising dentists and faculty members. Eight dental hygiene students participated in the event, sharing information on oral health promotion and dental hygiene care, while also providing dental screenings. Participants were warmly invited to return to the University’s on-site Dental Hygiene Clinic for preventive and therapeutic services.

“The Community Health and Wellness Fair gave our students a meaningful way to use what they’ve learned in the classroom to make a real difference in the community,” said Dr. Dwayne Hooks, Dean of the College of Health. “It was inspiring to see students from different health disciplines come together to share practical tips, encourage preventive care, and support the wellness of East Point residents. We appreciate Fellowship of Faith Church International for creating such a positive space for learning and service.”
