The Grand Opening of Loch Central in Clayton Hall Brings Together Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar in One Location to Assist Students at Clayton State

According to Dr. Ashlee Spearman, Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success, “Loch Central was designed with one goal in mind—to make the student experience simpler, more efficient, and more supportive.” She added, “Loch Central is another example of our strategic focus on student success and our belief that every interaction matters. Because when we make it easier for students to succeed, we strengthen our entire university.”

In this unified and centrally located space, students can have questions answered about admissions, financial aid, registration, or the next steps in their educational journey, all in one visit. This concept for assisting students isn't simply about convenience. It's about reducing frustration and creating a seamless experience.

“The opening of Loch Central—our new One Stop Shop is about much more than opening a new space. It is about opening doors for our students,” said Georj Lewis, President of Clayton State University. He added, “For many students, navigating college can be overwhelming. Whether students are seeking information about admissions, financial aid, registration, billing- each step is important, but it can also be confusing when those services are located in different places or require multiple visits. Loch Central reflects our commitment to making that journey as seamless as possible.”

Research consistently shows that when students receive timely, coordinated support, they are more likely to persist and graduate. Loch Central is designed to do exactly that. This space also reflects the collaboration among multiple departments that share a common purpose: helping students succeed.

President Lewis beamed with pride at the opening of Loch Central and said, “This is what a People-Centered university looks like. It removes barriers. It creates connections. It simplifies the student experience.”  Dr. Lewis explained why the idea of opening this new office space was important to achieving our university’s mission by saying, “Every improvement we make—whether it's a new academic program, a renovated space, or a one-stop student service center—should answer one question: Does this help our students succeed? If the answer is yes, then it's an investment in social mobility and in the future of our community.”
