Clayton State University Dental Hygiene Students Take First Place in “Run for Dentistry”

(November 22, 2025) - Clayton State University’s Dental Hygiene students showcased their school spirit and commitment to community health by taking first place at the Dental Dash at Dawn 5K, held on November 8, 2025. The annual race promotes wellness while raising funds for the DDD Foundation, which provides dental treatment to more than 4,800 developmentally disabled patients each year.

The Clayton State Dental Hygiene team proudly earned the $500 top prize for having the largest team participate in the event. The funds will support future outreach initiatives and events organized by the university’s Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association, furthering their mission to advance oral health education and community service.

The Dental Dash at Dawn 5K featured multiple award categories, including $200 cash prizes for top male, female, and wheelchair racers, as well as “gold tooth” trophies for top finishers in each age group.

 The CSU team’s enthusiastic participation and outreach exemplify the university’s dedication to service learning and improving health outcomes across Georgia communities.
