Department Scholarships

To apply for the scholarships listed, you must contact the department listed for that particular scholarship. Keep in mind that the application deadlines for these scholarships may vary.

Athletic Scholarships

Scholarships are available for exceptional student athletes in all intercollegiate sports. Scholarship amounts vary. Contact the appropriate coach or the Director of Athletics at (678) 466-4672.

College of Business Scholarships

Southside Chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs The Southside Chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs provides scholarships to high achieving and active junior or senior accounting majors. The minimum requirement is a 3.0 overall cumulative GPA with no grade less than a B in accounting. At least one upper level accounting course must be completed at Clayton State University. Other factors considered are class participation and leadership, overall grade point average, and an essay or other assessment determined by the Chapter. Specific criteria are available from the College of Business each Fall semester. Funding decisions are not ordinarily reached until the Spring semester of each year, and awards are contingent upon receipt of scholarship funds. Contact the College of Business at (678) 466-4500.

College of Information and Mathematical Sciences Scholarship

Billy Nail Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Glenda Nail and friends, family and colleagues in honor and memory of Dr. Billy "Buddy" Nail. Applicants must be enrolled in, or admitted, to Clayton State in the College of Information and Mathematical Sciences; must be taking at least two classes; and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Launchpad Leadership Academy Scholarship
This opportunity will provide $2,000 per year for tuition and fees (awarded over 2 consecutive semesters). Applicants MUST be admitted to Clayton State for Fall 2024 to qualify for this opportunity. Appointed scholars must be enrolled full-time within the College of Information and Mathematical Sciences at Clayton State University for the duration of the scholarship to remain eligible for the award.

  • Three (3) letters of reference are required for each applicant and are due to the scholarship committee by APRIL 15.
    • Submission information is on the reference document.
    • Failure to have three letters submitted will result in your application being incomplete. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered.
    • At least one reference should be a Clayton State professor or staff member (for current students) or previous professor/teacher (for new and transfer students) and at least one should be a previous supervisor/mentor/leader.
  • Launchpad Leadership Academy application essay must be no more than two pages in length, double spaced, 12-point font; should be a strong example of your ability to communicate effectively in writing and cover the following:
    • Your reasons for applying to the Launchpad leadership program.
    • Strengths/experiences that make you a unique/valuable addition to the program
    • Experiences related to the tech industry (paid or volunteer)
    • Leadership roles, achievements, accomplishments and special skills (multi-lingual, research experiences, involvement in community engagement)
    • Professional plans after graduation

Dental Hygiene Scholarships

Emile T. Fisher Foundation for Dental Education in Georgia, Inc. This scholarship provides one $500 scholarship for Clayton State senior dental hygiene student each fall. To apply for the scholarship, students must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average and intend to practice in Georgia. Applications are emailed to eligible students by the Department of Dental Hygiene.

Hinman Scholarships The Hinman Dental Society provides three scholarships for Clayton State University senior dental hygiene students each year. The recipients are chosen on the basis of scholarship, as well as financial need. Applications are emailed to eligible students by the Department of Dental Hygiene.

South Metro Atlanta Dental Hygienists’ Society The applicant must: be a resident of Georgia, be a SENIOR in the Clayton State Dental Hygiene Program, intend to practice in Georgia for two years following graduation, be a SADHA officer or active member, be recommended by the SADHA Advisor and one other Dental Hygiene Department faculty member.Recent scholarship awards were$75. Scholarship to be awarded at the CSU Dental Hygiene Recognition Ceremony inMay. Applications are emailed to eligible students by the Department of Dental Hygiene.


General Scholarships

Clayton State University Women’s Forum Clayton State University Women’s Forum exists to promote and enhance the professional, educational, and cultural position of Clayton State women students and employees and to endow an annual scholarship. If you are a Clayton State University female student or femalefull-timestaff member and would like to apply for one of the scholarships, information can be found at the Women's Forum website. Please note that scholarship awards are contingent on available funds. While Clayton State University makes every effort to publish the most current information, award amounts as well as available scholarships may change prior to their actual award.


Music Scholarships

Spivey Music Scholarships Spivey Music Scholarships are merit scholarships available to music majors and are awarded in a range of amounts. Awards are generally proportionate to the applicant’s current level of musical accomplishment and can be significant in the case of students whose musical ability and preparedness for academic work in music are extensive. Eligible students may receive a Spivey Music Scholarship in addition to the HOPE Scholarship. Audition is required for entrance into the music program and for any scholarship consideration.
