Below is a selection of our most popular venues on campus.

Interior Spaces

Student Activity Center (SAC) Ballroom

The Student Activity Center (SAC) Ballroom is a spacious, versatile venue designed to accommodate various events. It features a clean, modern aesthetic with high ceilings, elegant lighting, and windows that offer natural light. The room is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, making it ideal for conferences, galas, and banquets.

For added flexibility, the ballroom can be easily divided into three smaller rooms using retractable soundproof partitions. Each smaller room maintains a similar high-end design with its own lighting controls, ensuring a comfortable and tailored experience for smaller gatherings. The neutral color scheme ensures that the space can be customized to suit any occasion. Each space provides direct access to the Pre-function Lobby.

SAC Pre-function Area/Lobby

The SAC Ballroom Pre-function/lobby is designed to serve as a waiting or transitional area for guests before they enter the main ballroom. Located adjacent to the SAC Ballroom, this space can be used for event check-in, pre- or post-event mingling, or light refreshments. Restrooms and vending machines are located nearby.

SAC Basketball Courts

The SAC basketball courts offer a great location for a basketball practice or game, or possibly a large event such as a science fair.

SAC Event Spaces

SAC event spaces are for student events and meetings.

James M. Baker University Center (UC) Commons

The Baker University Center Commons is a versatile, open venue with expansive windows overlooking Swan Lake, CSU’s largest lake. The UC Commons can accommodate a variety of events. The landing on the large staircase can serve as a speaker’s platform when needed.

James M. Baker University Center (UC) Presidential Plaza

The Presidential Plaza on the first floor of the Baker University Center is located just outside the President’s Office and Lakeside Dining Hall. This space can serve as a general event space and can serve as booth/table space for clubs and organizations. It’s located adjacent to the UC Commons and can serve as a combined event space.

Carnes Hall for Music Atrium

Carnes Hall is dedicated to Music and the Arts. The Atrium would be a great location for a small gala event with plenty of space for food, beverages, and mingling. The music rooms are good for educational classes geared toward music education. 

Magnolia Hall Lobby

The Magnolia Hall lobby is a bright, open space with views and direct access to the newly-renovated Quad and a covered exterior space. This would be an ideal location for a large event where indoor and outdoor space are needed.

Lakeview Science and Discovery Center Lobby

The lobby of the Lakeview Science and Discovery Center is a more intimate space with direct access to a covered terrace and views of one of the larger lakes on campus.

University Center Lecture Hall (UC-272)

The UC Lecture Hall (UC-272) is a traditional lecture hall style classroom. With seating for up to 154 attendees, it can also be used for symposiums or similar events. The Lecture Hall provides full AV capabilities and offers Wi-Fi access. In addition, the Lecture Hall provides a small lobby for check-in and tables for distribution of printed materials.

High-Tech Tiered Classrooms

Clayton State has a variety of high-tech tiered classroom options that can accommodate 64-91 people. Power is available at all desks, and classrooms have Wi-Fi access.

High-Tech Classrooms

Clayton State has a variety of high-tech classroom options that can accommodate 30-66 people. Power is available at most desks, and classrooms have Wi-Fi access.

Conference Rooms

There are a variety of conference rooms available with accommodations from 6-20 people. All conference rooms have Wi-Fi access.

Arbor Hall Auditorium

The theater at Arbor Hall provides seating for up to 144 guests. AV is available in the theater. Parking is located close to Arbor Hall, and restrooms and vending machines are located just off the lobby of Arbor Hall. Wi-Fi access is available.

Crescent Theater

The Crescent Theater is located in the Arts & Sciences Building, offering seating for up to 140 guests. The Crescent Theater has full theatrical lighting and AV capabilities. Just outside the theater is a waiting area, along with restrooms and vending machines. Wi-Fi access is available. NOTE: The Crescent Theater has limited access during certain times of the year.

Athletics Center Gym (The Loch)

The Athletics Center gym, also known as The Loch, offers space for large events such as Commencement or events on a similar scale. With bleacher seating and chairs on the floor, the space can accommodate up to 1,000 people. Availability is limited based on basketball practice and games, and space must be requested at least six (6) weeks prior to the requested dates due to scheduling and set-up requirements.


Exterior Spaces

University Center Plaza

The University Center Plaza is an open exterior space at the main entrance to the Baker University Center, CSU’s signature building. The Plaza offers great views of Swan Lake, CSU’s largest lake, and is the perfect space for outside parties and gatherings. Power is available along with Wi-Fi access.

Campus Quad

Recently renovated, the Campus Quad is centrally located in the core of our academic and service buildings. Surrounded by sidewalks, this is a great location for student events and campus celebrations.

Lawson Amphitheater

The Lawson Amphitheater is a scenic venue that overlooks Swan Lake, the University’s largest lake. It could be the perfect setting for an acoustical concert, a casual wedding, and campus celebrations. Seating is available on low, curved walls. Power is also available at the stage.
