Student Leadership and Involvement Awards (SLIA)
The Student Leadership and Involvement Awards (SLIA) is the annual awards ceremony held to recognize student leaders and registered student organizations for their contributions to campus and the surrounding communities.
The 2024 Student Leadership and Involvement Awards will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Student Activities Center Ballrooms.

The Outstanding Diversity Advocacy and Leadership Award is awarded to a student or
student organization that strives to promote understanding and appreciation of diversity,
build community, and advocates for civility and equality in a multitude of forms at
Clayton State University.

The Outstanding Community Service Advocate of the Year Award is awarded to a student
leader or organization that sponsored a service project that benefited someone in
need and/or supported and encouraged student commitment to volunteering and service;
OR sponsored a project or program that created awareness of a socially sensitive cause
or issue to the Clayton State community.

The Outstanding New Student Organization of the Year Award is awarded to a first-year
student organization that has shown potential for longevity and stability through
its mission, structure, programs, and services.

The Laker Nation Student Organization Support Award was created to increase collegiality
among our student organizations and is awarded to a student organization who showed
great support to fellow student organization programming and events on campus.

2022 - AmeriCorps Service Program
The Excellence in Student Involvement Award is awarded to a student for his/her extensive
involvement in student organizations, leadership and community service during the
academic term. This award recognizes a freshman or sophomore student for outstanding
contributions to student life and for giving both time and resources to ensure a program
or activity will succeed.
