Chili Cook Off Application and Information

Thank you for agreeing to enter your chili in the Women’s Forum Sixth Annual Chili Cook-Off and Quilt Raffle.  Proceeds from this event will go to the Women’s Forum Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships for students and staff at Clayton State University.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

A pot of chili can be entered by an individual, a department or a College.  You may enter more than one kind of chili.  Chili must be in a crock pot.

You may enhance your chances of winning the cook-off by including condiments such as cheese, crackers, sour cream, sliced peppers, etc., to compliment your chili.  Another way to earn points is by decorating your half of a 6-foot table where your chili will be served.  Each pot of chili will be given a number and thus remain anonymous.  You should provide a descriptive name for your chili so that people eating or judging your entry will know what to expect.

There are awards for two categories: Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice.  Judges will be chosen from across campus and a winner will be chosen by that group based on the taste of your chili and your table decorations.  People’s Choice will be determined by the chili entry with the highest number of votes.  A voting ticket will be given to each person who purchases chili for them to place in a “vote” bowl on the table of their favorite chili.  Pre-registration is required to be considered for either judging category.

THE DAY OF THE COOK-OFF

Your items for the cook-off must be brought to the first floor of the University Center by 10:00 am on Thursday, November 13th.  Please bring a large spoon or ladle for your chili.  We will have someone available to serve your chili for you.  You should pick up your empty crockpot between 1:15 pm and 1:30 pm.
