Clayton State University Scholarships
Students are not required to complete a scholarship application or submit recommendation forms for Clayton State scholarships managed by the Financial Aid Office. We are utilizing a scholarship software program that will identify students who meet the criteria for each scholarship.
For the scholarships managed by the Financial Aid Office, students do not need to take any action to be considered. All accepted entering freshmen, transfer, and enrolled continuing students will be automatically considered for all University- administered scholarships for which they are eligible. Some scholarships will require additional information before an award can be made. In those cases students who meet the minimum criteria will receive an email at their Clayton State email account requesting additional information. Reminder - check your Clayton State email account frequently so that you don't miss any important information!

General Information
Students are not required to complete a scholarship application or submit recommendation forms for Clayton State University scholarships that are administered by the Financial Aid Office. All accepted entering freshmen, transfer, and enrolled continuing students will be automatically considered for each University-administered scholarship for which they are eligible.
Some Clayton State scholarships are need-based. To be considered for need-based scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the appropriate academic year. Clayton State University’s school code is 008976.
In some cases additional information will be needed before the scholarship can be awarded. In that case all students who meet the criteria will be sent an email to their Clayton State account informing them of their consideration for a particular scholarship. The email will contain instructions on what the student needs to do if they wish to be considered further for that particular scholarship. Reminder - check your Clayton State email mail account frequently so you don't miss any important information!
Students receiving Clayton State University scholarship assistance cannot be awarded more than the total cost of attendance as defined annually. This applies to all financial aid regardless of source. In some cases loans, work-study, and/or scholarship awards must be adjusted to ensure that no overaward occurs.
To apply for Department Scholarships students must contact the department or organization listed. Keep in mind that the application deadlines for the Department Scholarships and External Private Scholarships vary.
Admission Application Requirements
The Office of Admissions must receive an admissions application and official copies of high school and/or college transcripts by the scholarship deadline. New freshmen and some transfer students will also be required to submit a copy of their SAT or ACT scores prior to the scholarship application deadline. Private Scholarship Donors
- Mail checks to: Clayton State University Bursar's Office 2000 Clayton State Blvd Morrow, GA 30260
- If there are specific instructions, they should be included with scholarship check.
- The Bursar's Office will notify the Financial Aid Office regarding the:
- Scholarship recipient/student
- Amount of scholarship
- Appropriate term for the scholarship
- Scholarship funds will be applied towards the student account for appropriate term.
- If the student is entitled to a refund, scholarship refunds will follow all other refund policies and procedures set forth by the Bursar's Office.
