Wellness Programs

The Department of Recreation & Wellness strives to be a wellness leader on Clayton State University's campus and works with a number of other departments in order to provide wellness programming and resources for the University community.

Meditation 101 In collaboration with the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Meditation 101, an inclusive class, is focused on guiding participants through mediation and breathing exercises. This class is great for anyone, whether they are completely new to meditation or have participated in guided meditation in the past. The 45 minute class consists of 3-4 guided meditation exercises. Recreation and Wellness also works with The Disability Resource Center to modify programs as necessary.

Current Event ... USG-Well Being: Exclusively for Clayton State University Faculty and Staff. Healthy Well-being Credit. Complete healthy activities by Sept. 30, 2018, and you can earn up to a $100 well-being credit. The well-being credit is only available to employees and spouses covered on a USG healthcare plan and will be paid in November 2018. Upcoming Event 2019 Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk Employees (optional: and family/friends, too) sign on as part of the Clayton State University USG team. Participants receive: -Organized training programs with pace groups on Saturday mornings and Wednesday and Thursday evenings, -Free 8-week training schedules for runners and walkers -Fit tips -Personal health assessment tools -Healthy recipes, discounts and more The program culminates on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, 7:00 p.m., with a 5K (3.1 mile) Corporate Run/Walk and “World’s Largest Office Party.”Georgia World Congress Center – Building C 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW Atlanta, GA 30313

Wellness on Wheels Outreach Program (WOW) Wellness on Wheels (WOW) is a specialty wellness program designed as an outreach to Clayton State University students, faculty, and staff. WOW can provide fitness classes, wellness and nutrition presentations, Q&A sessions and even wellness assessments for student organizations, groups, departments or college. Select the activity for the group to participate in, schedule a date, time, and location and we'll bring the services . WOW uses student volunteers from health-related majors as well as certified student personal trainers to complete all assessments. Laker Campus Walking Routes

Employee Wellness Committee The Mission of the Employee Wellness Council is to increase wellness opportunities among Clayton State University employees through education and awareness and to foster positive attitudes toward healthier lifestyles that improve one’s quality of life. The Employee Wellness Council is comprised of employees from all across the campus representing every major division within the university. Our hope is to serve the campus as ambassadors for wellness. In short, we aspire to encourage all employees to make their personal health and wellness a top priority.
