RN-BSN Program Prerequisites

Both tracks of the BSN program and the RN-MSN program require that students complete the following prerequisites prior to program enrollment.


AREA F – Lower Division Program Requirements (18 hours)

  • Appropriate 1000/2000 level coursework (not applied in Core A-E) including human anatomy and physiology sequence, microbiology and human growth and development.

MATH1231 (if not applied in Area D2) or appropriate lower division statistics course required.


Transition Course (3 hours)

HLTH 3200 Pathophysiology for RNs (3 hours)

HLTH3200 is not offered at most schools; transfer students should plan on completing at Clayton State during first semester of enrollment prior to nursing program admission.


Legislative Requirements

Clayton State students will satisfy United States and Georgia constitution and history requirements through completion of appropriate coursework in core curriculum. Alternate coursework and/or testing may be appropriate for transfer students. Refer to the Catalog for details; general information available through the Testing Center.


Overlay Requirements

Clayton State students will satisfy Critical Thinking, Global Perspectives and United States Perspectives learning goals through completion of appropriate coursework in core curriculum. Alternate coursework and/or testing may be appropriate for transfer students. Refer to the Catalog for details.
