The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that Clayton State University’s MBA in Human Resource Leadership fully aligns with SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.
Throughout the world, 379 programs in 282 educational institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates. The HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed by SHRM to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The guidelines -- created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010 and 2013 -- are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards taught in university business schools and to help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
According to Dr. Leon Prieto, Clayton State assistant professor of Management, “The Society for Human Resource Management’s recognition of the MBA in Human Resource Leadership speaks toward not only the outstanding efforts of our faculty, but is testimony that the MBA in HR Leadership’s curriculum will help our students become effective leaders who will be prepared to think strategically in areas such as employee training, performance management, succession planning, and global human resource issues. Our program also has the honor of being the only MBA in Human Resource Leadership in the state of Georgia that has the SHRM stamp of approval along with the AACSB accreditation.”
