Acclaimed British pianist Paul Lewis makes a welcome return to Clayton State University’s world-famous Spivey Hall for its 2011/2012 season opening celebration with popular works by Viennese master, Franz Schubert, as part of his international two-year project, Schubert and the Piano: 1822-1828.
Lewis will be performing on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $50.
“There is in Lewis's playing a strong physicality, a firm connection between his deep thinking about the music and his articulation of it. He knows and can define its character, and can show how its rhythmic, harmonic and melodic components coalesce. This was playing of intellectual rigour and imaginative vigour" (The Daily Telegraph, London).
