Dental Hygiene Missing Three Pieces of Furniture
The Department of Dental Hygiene has moved from Arts & Sciences into room STC235 of the Student Center.
Unfortunately, during the move, some of Dental Hygiene’s furniture got mixed in with surplus furniture and, consequently, they are without several pieces of furniture they really need!
Fortunately, some of the furniture pieces were eventually located; nevertheless, still missing are two cherry bookcases and a cherry two-drawer lateral file cabinet.
Department Chair Dr. Gail Barnes would greatly appreciate it if all offices would take stock and determine if they are in possession of Dental Hygiene’s missing furniture.
If you have any questions, or need to see a photo of the missing furniture, please contact Valeria Baker at (678) 466-4913.

Move-In Day Volunteers Needed
It’s that time of year again! Move-In Day 2012 is almost here and is one of the most important days of the year here at Clayton State University. Each year student organizations, faculty, staff, and members of the surrounding community volunteer to assist students as they move in to Clayton State’s residential facilities.
Freshman Move-In Day in Laker Hall is Tuesday, Aug. 7, and Upperclassmen Move-In Day in Clayton Station Apartments is Thursday, Aug. 9. Both move-in days will start promptly at 8 a.m.
This is an important time for you, as a volunteer to have a meaningful interaction with students and parents to welcome them into the Laker family. We are requesting that volunteers attend one of the Move-In Day Volunteer Informational Sessions. If you are volunteering as a part of a department, office, or organization please send one representative from that group. There will be three, short informational sessions:
- Thursday, Aug. 2, 5 p.m. Laker Hall Second Floor Lounge
- Friday, Aug. 3, 6 p.m. Laker Hall Second Floor Lounge
- Monday, Aug. 6, 1 p.m. Laker Hall Second Floor Lounge
For questions or concerns, please contact Danielle Sims, Laker Hall residence manager at (678) 466-5479 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
University-Issued Cell Phones
In accordance with the University’s Wireless Communication Device Policy and Procedures, Procurement Services must maintain an inventory of wireless devices in shared pools and individually- assigned, by type. Therefore, we are asking all University Issued Cell phone Users to please complete the Annual Cell Phone Continued Use Authorization Form
located on Procurement Services Website under Procurement Forms and return to our office by close of business July 31, 2012. We also would like to recommend all end-users review the policy and procedures for wireless communication devices again as a refresher of the University’s policy and procedures.
January 2013 is the official cut-off date for users using our Blackberry server. Not everyone with a Blackberry phone is using our Blackberry server — we only had a license for 20. Basically, the Blackberry server is like a local middle-man between the user’s phone and our e-mail system. Their phones could be set up to communicate that way. The alternative is that users have to set up their carrier to connect to our e-mail system. So they can still access their Clayton State email with their Blackberry but it’s not as efficient. With that being said, we are recommending all Blackberry users upgrade their cell phones by Dec. 7, 2012 to an iPhone 4s to avoid any issues or inefficiencies.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Procurement Services.
