Loch Shop Faculty, Staff, Friends and Family Sale; Today and Tomorrow
For all those individuals still stuck on campus, or for anyone looking for a holiday bargain, the Clayton State University Loch Shop will be having a special sale on Wednesday, Dec. 14 and Thursday, Dec. 15, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Loch Shop Manager Todd Smith has announced that he’ll be giving 40 percent off all customers’ entire purchases, including clearance merchandise and bargain books.* As a special bonus, there will also be free popcorn for customers both days.
"From Clayton State logo items to the latest best-sellers, come take advantage of our last sale of the season,” he says.
As always, free gift wrapping is available for all purchases. The Loch Shop is located on the first floor of the Clayton State Student Center.

Basketball Doubleheader vs. Georgia Southwestern, Dec. 14
The Lakers will open the 2011/2012 Peach Belt season on Wednesday, Dec. 14 with a doubleheader against Georgia Southwestern.
The sixth-ranked, defending national champion women’s team (Nisha, Me Me, et al) will open in the 5:30 p.m. game at the Athletics & Fitness Center. The Clayton State men, led by Teondre Williams will face the 19
-ranked Hurricanes in the 7:30 p.m. second game.
Changes in Financial Aid for 2012/2013
The Office of Financial Aid would like students to know that there are some major changes coming for 2012/2013 in financial aid that affect students as early as when they complete the FAFSA.

Turn in StudyBucks by Dec. 16
Please submit all your Operation Study StudyBucks to the Office of Student Affairs (University Center Room 250) by Friday, Dec. 16. Your StudyBucks account balance will carry over to the spring semester, but the individual bucks must be submitted this week.
Operation Study Quick Survey & Gift Card Drawing
Since the Operation Study program is a new initiative, we would like your quick feedback to help us improve the program for next semester. Please take less than five minutes to complete the brief survey at the following link, even if you did not earn StudyBucks this semester.
At the end of the survey include your contact information to be included in a drawing for two $25 gift cards for the Loch Shop Bookstore. Please complete the survey by Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. The drawing will take place on Jan. 9.
University Relations Sponsored Fall Photo Contest
University Relations is sponsoring a fall photography contest! Please submit your “Best Clayton State Fall Photo.” All photo submissions must be on campus. Photo subjects may include Clayton State faculty, staff, students, or campus scenery. All photos must be submitted by midnight Jan. 13, 2012. No more than two submissions per person, per day.

Applicants Invited for 2012 Georgia International Leadership Conference
The 2012 Georgia International Leadership Conference (GILC) is now open for registration. Clayton State’s Division of Student Affairs and International Student Services Office (ISSO) will be able to sponsor five participants this year. Sponsorship will cover the cost of registration, transportation, lodging and meals during the conference. The two day, two night event will again be held at Rock Eagle 4H Conference Center, near Eatonton, Ga., about 45 minutes southeast of Atlanta.
The intensive weekend is designed to break down stereotypes, raise global awareness and build social networks beyond borders in a laid back, rustic setting through a variety of activities.

Il Brasso Magnifico to Play at Spivey Hall, Dec. 18
Il Brasso Magnifico, with Mark Williamson music director, will be playing a free concert in Clayton State University’s Spivey Hall on Sunday, Dec. 18.
Current and former members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as well as other major orchestras and ensembles reunite for the return of Il Brasso Magnifico to Spivey Hall, offering up holiday music in classical, jazz, and popular styles, plus other favorites to celebrate the season.

The next CE Certificate Program Graduation is set for Monday, Dec. 19, at Clayton State -- East.
The ceremony begins at 7 p.m., with a reception following.
College of Business Ribbon Cutting and Signage Unveiling, Jan. 9
The College of Business invites faculty, staff and students to the ribbon cutting and signage unveiling ceremony announcing the renaming of the College of Business. The ceremony will be held on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 on the landing of the College of Business. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.

SBDC Hosting Starting a Business Workshop, Jan. 10
The Small Business Development Center will be hosting a “Starting a Business” workshop, a comprehensive workshop on important decisions you make prior to opening a business. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the main building at Clayton State -- East.
PowerPoint handouts and a book, “How to Start a Business: A Guide for Georgia Entrepreneurs” will be provided.
