Master of Arts in Teaching - Secondary Education: Mathematics

Degree Requirements for M.A.T. Mathematics

Each student will complete 36 semester hours of M.A.T. course work with a minimum grade point average of 3.0. At least 27 of these credits must be taken at Clayton State University. The curriculum usually takes 5-6 semesters to complete depending on which semester you are admitted.

  • EDUC 5301 - Secondary School Internship (4)
  • EDUC 5400 - (Part 1 & Part 2) Action Research Project (2)
  • MATH 5010 - Modern Methods of Teaching Mathematics (3)
  • MATH 5231 - Modern Geometry (3)
  • MATH 5250 - Elementary Number Theory (3)
  • Three additional MATH courses at the 5000 level or above (9)
