Students must complete 36 semester hours of course work with a minimum B (3.0) grade point average. During the course of the graduate program, eighteen (21) semester credit hours will be in areas defined as core archival knowledge that provides the theoretical and practical basis necessary to work as a professional archivist. Nine hours of archival electives are required that allow students some flexibility and specialization in the pro- gram. In addition to these courses, students must chose either a Thesis or Capstone op- tion. Student chasing the thesis option will taken six (6) hours in directed research and thesis. Students choosing the Capstone option will take six hours that include a required capstone course taken their final semester and the option of conducting directed re- search, having an archival internship, or participating in an Archival experience over the summer.
