The Office of Student Community Standards is recruiting interested staff members to serve on the University Hearing Panel (UHP) for 2014-2015 Academic Year. As you may be aware, the University Hearing Panel is comprised of Clayton State students, faculty, and staff, and convenes throughout the academic year to adjudicate cases of student academic and general misconduct.
Participation on the Hearing Panel requires initial training and then a monthly commitment of between two to five hours each month, with hearings usually held on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the semester. This is a great opportunity to expand your service to the University. Current hearing panel members and those who have served previously in that role have expressed that they learned a great deal about the institution and the rights of students and faculty.

If you are interested in being a part of the UHP, please fill out the brief application form at https://claytonstate.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6Q0Sds3r9gCz7Br by Tuesday Aug. 26, 2014.
Training for new UHP members will be held on Friday, Sept.5, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (location TBA). Lunch will be provided. Please note that if you are unable to attend the training on Friday, Sept.5, you will not be able to serve on the hearing panel until you attend a general training session. The next general training session will be offered during the spring 2015 semester.
