Backup and Storage

The Hub is not responsible for your data. Here is what you can do to protect yourself from dataloss.

Students

Personal H drives (lochbox.clayton.edu)

Students have access to a personal network drive. The easiest way to access it is lochbox.clayton.edu

This method isn't meant for a lot of files, just important documents/pictures/schoolwork.

Flash drives

Available at stores like our Clayton State LochShop, Walmart, or Best Buy. Inexpensive but do not hold much, and small enough to lose track of.

Cloud backup

All you need is an account. Options available: Google Drive, Dropbox, Windows SkyDrive. These options have limited storage but you can pay for more space.

External Hard Drives

When you need to back up ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. These devices hold a lot of files, but are generally costly and fairly fragile (you don't carry it with you everywhere)

Faculty and Staff

Rule of Thumb:

Never have ONE backup. Atleast 2 or more would be the best case.
