This course is a Maymester study abroad course taking place at various locations around Costa Rica.  The main focus of the course is rainforest ecology, conservation, and environmental science, with some time devoted to participating in field projects with active researchers.  See below for more information.


1.  Obtain an application from Dr. Melvin or by clicking here.  

2.  Complete the application and bring it to Dr. Melvin for approval and his signature. 

3.  Once the application is signed by Dr. Melvin, you will take a copy of it to the Bursar's Office and pay your deposit.  Your spot in the program is not secured until you pay your deposit.

The total program cost for May, 2015 is $2250 and includes roundtrip airline transportation from Atlanta to San Jose, Costa Rica, all nights lodging in various locations throughout Costa Rica, transportation throughout Costa Rica, all food while in Costa Rica, all entrance fees, expert local guides in Costa Rica, emergency medical insurance, and all taxes and fees. 

Not included in the program cost is 3 hours of CSU tuition, which may be covered by scholarships, financial aid, HOPE, etc.  All students will also need a passport (click here for information on how to obtain a passport).
