What is an Ombud?

An ombud is a designated neutral who provides confidential and informal assistance for resolving university-related concerns, especially those that are not being adequately addressed through usual procedures. The ombud is independent of the university's formal administrative structure and will consider all sides of an issue in an impartial and objective manner. An ombud cannot impose solutions, but will identify options and strategies for resolution

What does an Ombud do?

Ombuds provide impartial, objective and confidential assistance to the campus community, in hearing and in mediating complaints or conflicts. Services of an Ombud are available to all facility and staff of the university community.
