Minor in Physics
A total of 18 credit hours (8 hours of required course and 10 hours of elective courses) are necessary to complete the Minor in Physics.
Required courses (8 credit hours) are expected from all students seeking the physics minor:
PHYS 2211 Principles of Physics I
PHYS 2211L Principles of Physics Laboratory I
PHYS 2212 Principles of Physics II
PHYS 2212L Principles of Physics Laboratory II
Total credit hours
Elective courses (10 credit hours) are grouped in three tracks designed to meet the needs of different majors. Specifically, Chemistry majors are expected to take the courses from Chemical group, Mathematics majors and pre-engineering students are expected to take the electives from either Physical or Computational groups, and Computer Science majors are expected to be interested in the electives from the Computational Group. Nevertheless, these tracks are suggestions only and any combination of the three groups is also permissible for the total of 10 hours.
