Clayton State University’s Center for Continuing Education has been approved to offer Professional Learning Units (PLUs) to teachers and administrators in the Georgia Public Schools System.
In the state of Georgia, teachers are required to complete 10 PLUs (formerly SDUs) every five years in order to retain their teaching certificates. If you are currently teaching, you must complete a Prior Approval Form before you begin your course. Upon completion of your course you will receive a PLU Course Completion Form to attach to your renewal application when you are ready to renew your teaching certificate. If you are not currently teaching, keep a copy of your PLU Course Completion Form for your records. Access the most current information on Requirements for Teacher Certificate Renewal.
These courses were designed to specifically meet the needs of educators.
Please complete the Prior Approval Form including the required signatures. At the end of your course(s), the Course Completion Form will need to be submitted to your supervisor.
