Undergraduate Minors in Business

Students pursuing a minor in business must meet all necessary pre-requisites for business courses.

Business (for non-BBA majors) (18 Credits)

The minor in General Business is specifically tailored for non-business majors. Students will gain an overall understanding of business basics, including financial accounting, marketing, entrepreneurship, economics, and organizational behavior, to be prepared to make effective business decisions. The minor is a great complement to other degree programs for students seeking to add a business component to their studies.

Accounting(18 Credits)

The minor in Accounting will provide instruction in financial accounting and reporting. You will also build accounting and business software skills and develop an understanding of ethical issues and practices in the accounting profession.

Business Economics(18 Credits)

The minor in Business Economics is designed to serve both business and non-business majors. Students majoring in non-business fields can benefit by understanding basic economics concepts. An economics minor is a good option for law, political science, journalism, communications, education, finance, management, supply chain management, engineering, IT, and marketing, to name a few. A minor in economics prepares students to be more informed citizens and better prepared consumers.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation(15 Credits)

The entrepreneurship and innovation minor will offer students the opportunity to develop knowledge and unique skills that offer excellent employment opportunities in the Atlanta area and beyond. This minor is designed to serve both business and non-business majors.

Finance (15 Credits)

The minor in Finance is offered to both Business and Non-Business majors. It is designed to introduce the students to a wide range of finance topics. Students can choose courses to satisfy their interests as well as acquire skills to enhance their job opportunities.

Marketing (18 Credits)

The marketing minor will offer Clayton State University students the opportunity to focus on a specific area of business that offers excellent employment opportunity in the Atlanta area and beyond.

Supply Chain Management (18 Credits)

The supply chain minor will give students the opportunity to focus on a specific area of business that offers excellent employment opportunities in the Atlanta area and beyond.

Students are accepted into the program three times a year in the Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
