Transfer

There are two ways to complete an application for admissions. Apply online via GA Futures or download a paper application.

A paper application must be completed if submitting an application fee waiver.  Fee waivers cannot be attached to the online application at this time. Access our Fee Waiver policy for more details.

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable $40.00 application fee. Online applicants must use a credit or debit card to pay the application fee.

Applicants must submit an official transcript from each college or university previously attended. Students currently attending college should submit a "preliminary" transcript.

Official transcripts must have the institution’s seal and must be presented in an unopened official envelope from the sending institution.

We currently accept electronic transcripts from E-Transcript providers such as:

• eSCRIP
• Clearinghouse
• Parchment

If your previous school(s), college(s), or universities offer this service, submit official transcripts to: transcripts@clayton.edu.

International Credentials

You must submit all official transcripts from your high school and/or all post-secondary records. All transcripts must be in English; if not in English, they must be translated by a certified company. Please submit the certified translations along with your original official transcripts in the indigenous language.

If you have 30 or more transferable credits from an accredited college or university, you must submit an official copy of all college transcripts. (If you are unsure you have the transfer credits, please submit your secondary school transcripts as well).

Clayton State University requires that all international academic documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, leaving examination results, etc.) be formally evaluated by an independent evaluation service, which can be found below:

• Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., International Education Consultants.
• SpanTran: The Evaluation Company
• World Education Services
• Other evaluation services accredited by NACES

*High school transcripts: document-by-document with GPA (For test optional eligibility consideration)

*College/University transcript: course-by-course evaluation

All official evaluation and authenticated attached transcripts must be either sent by mail directly from the evaluation service to the address below, or electronically to international@clayton.edu

Transfer credit is normally accepted for college work earned at regionally accredited colleges and universities, provided the courses are comparable to the Clayton State University curriculum. A minimum grade of C or better will be accepted for transfer credit (D’s are accepted in some majors and for some lower division courses, please contact the school or college that you are interested in pursuing for more information).

An evaluation of your credit will be sent to you by the Registrar’s Office after you have been admitted. If you have questions regarding your transfer evaluation, please call the Registrar’s Office at (678) 466-4145.

NOTE: Students attending community colleges must have completed all of their learning support courses.

A Non-traditional Transfer is someone who graduated from high school, or would have graduated from high school, more than five years ago, and has some but less than 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours of transferable college course credit.
