Music Preparatory School
Private music lessons with our professional instructors, Clayton State student-instructors, and Clayton State faculty are available to the community children of 6 y. o.–up and adults for a modest fee. We offer 30 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute lessons in piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, clarinet, saxophone, guitar, lute, and ukulele. The goals and needs of students are considered individually when placed with our instructors.
Registration for private lessons is accepted throughout the semester based on an instructor’s availability.
The Music Preparatory School offers Group Classes for adults and children of different levels. There are group classical piano, and jazz/improvisation piano, flute, violin, and music theory classes available during every semester. Each student will learn the fundamentals of piano playing, sight-reading, scales, chord progressions, harmonization, ensemble playing, and transposition in the keyboard lab classroom. This program is a great on its own or as an opportunity for students to sample the weekly structure of music lessons before beginning private lessons.
The school reserves a right to modify or cancel any group class. Therefore, please refer to the school’s current Registration Form for more information on available group classes.
