The Clayton County Honor Orchestra is partnering with the Music Preparatory School!
For ages 12 – 16, this youth orchestra program is free for students in Clayton County Public Schools. Students from outside Clayton County and home schools may participate through Music Preparatory School registration.
Participation is by audition only. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Music Education Building at Clayton State University, Room 150. For more information or to arrange an audition, contact Dr. Richard Bell, (678) 466-4745 email@example.com.
This program is open to beginning and intermediate violin, viola, cello, double bass, voice, and piano students. Select Clayton State University music majors teach students of all ages in weekly private lessons to prepare them for participation in local youth and community orchestras or for personal enrichment.
Please note: Students who attend a school that has a school orchestra are required to enroll in that program as well. The Music Preparatory School Orchestra Project is not meant as a replacement for participation in school orchestras, but rather to complement these programs.
Private music lessons and classes with our faculty of professional musicians are available to the community for a modest fee in the Music Preparatory School. Additional instruction may be provided by selected undergraduate university music students under the direct supervision of Clayton State University Division of Music faculty. Piano, violin, voice, brass, and other instruments are available by request. All instruction takes place in the Music Education Building, adjacent to beautiful Spivey Hall, on the campus of Clayton State University. We welcome adults and children age 6 and up.
