Course: HIST 4800 (Italy’s Long Globalization: Culture, Art, Politics, and Economy from Ancient Rome to European Union)
The trip schedule:
March 4. Depart Atlanta for Rome
March 5-7. Rome (Coliseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Vatican, etc.)
March 7-11. Lucca (day trips to Cinque Terre, Pisa’s Cathedral and the Leaning Tower, free day for laundry and personal explorations of the city)
March 11-12. Florence (Accademia, Cathedral, tour of the city)
March 12-14. Venice (Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s, Jewish Quarters, tour of the city)
March 14. Flight back to Atlanta (from Venice)
The trip’s cost will be roughly $2,650. We are currently calculating the final cost, seeking ways to make the trip as cheap as possible. However, fluctuations in international currency rates might affect the final price tag. Right now USD is very high in relation to Euro, so this is a very cheap time for Americans to visit Europe. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this trend holds!
The cost includes airfare and all transportation in Italy (cars, trains, subways, and boats), lodging in three star hotels with breakfasts, all admissions and tours, several group dinners, and insurances. You need to bring money for personal meals and shopping.
