Spivey Hall Student Honor Workshops expand students’ knowledge of a variety of repertoire, develop their music-reading skills, and enhance their technical abilities. The Spivey Hall Honor Workshops seek not only to give young people the rare opportunity to perform in a world-class concert hall but also to develop their talents through music and interaction with other dedicated students.

2019 Spivey Hall Elementary Honor Choir Workshop
with Mr. Craig Hurley
Students in grades 4 & 5 who love to sing, are well-behaved and available for the entire day are eligible. Must be nominated by a music educator to participate. Nomination does not guarantee participation. Accepted participants must commit to the full schedule.
Recordings of the repertoire will be emailed out prior to March 9, but no prior preparation is required. Participants will be given music to use during the event, the day of the event.
ABOUT THE CLINICIAN: Craig Hurley is the conductor of the Spivey Hall Young Artists, the preparatory choir of the nationally renowned Spivey Hall Children's Choir. Under Mr. Hurley’s direction, the Spivey Hall Young Artists were honored to perform at the 2018 GMEA In-Service Conference. Mr. Hurley has also served as a guest clinician for several honor choirs throughout the state including the upcoming 2019 GMEA Statewide Elementary Honor Choir and the 2019 Spivey Hall Elementary Honor Choir. Mr. Hurley also directs the Spivey Hall Summer Music Camp each year for students entering fourth through seventh grades. Read More

FREE MUSIC TEACHER WORKSHOP! Dr. Martha Shaw will conduct a separate workshop for music teachers concurrent with the Elementary Honor Choir. This is FREE for teachers with students participating in Spivey Hall's Elementary Honor Choir. This workshop costs $25.00 for music educators with no participating students in the honor choir.
